ISL 2018-19: FC Pune City look to nick a crucial win against Jamshedpur FC

Pune City and Jamshedpur FC have faced each other on two occasions with Pune winning both times

Sports – Bottom-placed FC Pune City host Jamshedpur FC at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium in Pune on Wednesday in a match which is crucial for their hopes to make it to the playoffs.
Jamshedpur FC, on the other hand, are unbeaten this season but have managed to win only two games in their seven outings. Currently, they sit in the fourth spot and now have a great chance to go up the ladder by defeating a team which is off-colour.
If Pune need any inspiration for this, if being bottom-placed isn’t firing enough, they could look at their head-to-head record against Jamshedpur against which they have won both games they have played against the visitors.

SQUADS | ISL 2018-19

FC Pune City: The home team will look to reset their form after the international break but will have to do so without Emiliano Alfaro, who has joined ATK on a loan deal. On the other hand, they have included in their ranks Hero ISL’s all-time top-scorer Iain Hume to the squad. Hume, who missed the season’s start, might make his Pune debut in the match against Jamshedpur and, if that is the case, might be paired with Marcelo Pereira upfront. Interim coach Reddy will also have midfielder Marko Stankovic back from injury for the match.
Jamshedpur FC: Jamshedpur will be missing some strikers in their game against Pune. Gourav Mukhi is under suspension pending a hearing by the AIFF Disciplinary Committee while Tim Cahill, who was involved in Australia’s friendly against Lebanon on Tuesday, will also be unavailable. Sumeet Passi was a part of the Indian squad which travelled to Jordan for the international friendly on November 18 and was one of the seven players who were stranded at the Kuwait International Airport for 32 hours due to heavy rains. The young striker will be available for the match against Pune, but fatigue may play a factor…Read More

ISL 2018-19: Corominas scores twice in Goa’s 3-1 win over Kerala Blasters

With the latest home loss, Kerala Blasters FC drop down to seventh spot with seven points from as many games while FC Goa remain on top with 16 points from seven games

Sports : Full-time report: FC Goa put three past Kerala Blasters FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi as in-form Spanish forward Ferran Corominas got a brace to move atop the top scorers list in ISL 2018-19.
The first goal came in the 11th minute when Goa got a corner that was headed back out of the box. Jahouh received the ball and floated it back into the box from the right hand side with Corominas reaching at the near post and putting on a glancing header that put the ball inside the far post to make it 0-1.

After the first goal, Goa continued to pile pressure on the home team who had a hard time getting out of their own half and relied heavily on counter-attacks to get forward. Goa were comfortable building from the back and were generally patient with their build up even though the first goal came off a set-piece and the other, in the extra-time, came through a counter-attack.
The second came in the last minute of the first half when Corominas carried the ball forward in a counter-attack with two of his teammates on either side. He ran through the middle and opened up space for himself, cut in a little bit to get on his favourite right foot and struck the ball at the bottom left corner to make it 2-0 in Goa’s favour.

ISL 2018-19: FC Goa eye comeback as Delhi Dynamos hunt for first win

FC Goa and Delhi have faced each other 10 times out of which FC Goa have won six matches while Delhi have won on three occasions

Sports : FC Goa coach Sergio Lobera will demand a response from his side when they take on Delhi Dynamos in an Indian Super League clash at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Thursday.
This was after the Goan outfit suffered a 1-4 defeat in Jamshedpur which ended their unbeaten start to the season. Sergio Lobera himself admitted that the performance was the “worst” he has seen in his tenure as they came up second best in every department.
As for Delhi, in seven matches this season, they haven’t been at their absolute best. Manager Josep Gombau will hope that they are eighth time lucky. After dropping down to the fourth spot in the league table, a win on Thursday will take Goa back to pole position. It will be interesting to see if Lobera decides to change personnel in key positions especially with Brandon Fernandes getting back to full fitness.

ISL 2018-19

The game against Delhi Dynamos will also see Goa’s very own Romeo Fernandes return to the Fatorda Stadium. The winger, who enjoyed a purple patch under Zico, joined Delhi last season and since then, has had a patchy form.
It remains to be seen if Fernandes would start as although he has travelled with the team, he has only just recovered from a finger injury.
SQUAD: Goa have scored 15 goals in five matches. Six of these have come from the talismanic Ferran Corominas, who currently tops the Hero ISL goal-scoring chart along with NorthEast United FC’s Bartholomew Ogbeche. The Spaniard was suspended for Goa’s defeat against Jamshedpur and his absence was evident throughout the match. Miguel Fernandez, who replaced Coro against Jamshedpur, had 16 touches in the attacking third but managed zero attempts on goal.

ISL 2018-19: Coro’s absence the talking point as Jamshedpur FC face FC Goa

Jamshedpur FC and FC Goa have faced each other twice with the Gaurs winning both the matches

SPORTS | FC Goa coach Sergio Lobera is banking on his team’s collective effort to tide over star striker Ferran Corominas’ absence when they take on Jamshedpur FC in the Hero Indian Super League at Jamshedpur’s JRD Tata Sports Complex on Thursday.
Last season’s Golden Boot winner Corominas has once again been a key for Goa with the Spanish forward currently the joint top-scorer with six goals and four assists to his name. Ferrando’s men started their campaign with victory at Mumbai City but have since endured successive draws against Bengaluru FC, ATK, NorthEast United and Kerala Blasters.
The Jamshedpur-based outfit looked to have broken that frustrating run in the clash against Kerala but two second-half goals from David James’ men put paid to all such hopes.|ISL 2018 – 19
Ferrando’s side are one of the four remaining unbeaten teams in the league and will be locking horns with an opponent who have been firing on all cylinders.
Unlike Jamshedpur, Goa started their campaign with a draw against the NorthEast United before registering three impressive wins on the trot. Lobera’s men have been turning heads with their goal-scoring exploits and have already registered 14 of them so far in four matches.
SQUAD: Lobera will have to make do without Corominas’ services after he picked up a straight red card in the side’s 4-2 win over FC Pune City. This is the first time that the Spaniard will not feature for Goa since he made his debut in the ISL against Chennaiyin FC last season.

ISL 2018-19: NorthEast United FC look for win at home against Jamshedpur FC

NorthEast United FC and Jamshedpur FC have faced each other twice with Jamshedpur winning one match and the other one ending in a draw

ISL 2018 – 19| NorthEast United FC would look to continue their resurgence under head coach Eelco Schattorie when they host Jamshedpur FC in an Indian Super League clash in Guwahati on Thursday.
Schattorie’s men did well to hold FC Goa 2-2 in their opening match at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium here before notching up an impressive solitary goal win over 10-man ATK in Kolkata. They then made heads turn with their sensational comeback to defeat defending champions Chennaiyin FC 4-3 in their own den.(SPORTS)
Jamshedpur’s start to the season was steady with a 2-0 away victory against Mumbai City followed by draws against Bengaluru FC and ATK. Under Cesar Ferrando, the Spanish revolution is well and truly underway at Jamshedpur with Mario Arques being the standout addition so far. What Ferrando will want on Thursday is for marquee signing Tim Cahill to get off the mark.
SQUAD: Nigerian forward Bartholomew Ogbeche will be the biggest threat to Jamshedpur, having scored four goals already, including a stunning hat-trick against Chennaiyin.
