UP election result 2022 updates: The BJP set to retain power in Uttar Pradesh. It crossed the halfway mark as votes are counted for assembly elections held in seven rounds. It will be for the first time since 1985 that a ruling party will be returning to power in Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party is ahead in some 120 seats, improving its tally from the 2017 elections. The Bahujan Samaj Party and the Congress are each in single digit for seats.

Counting of votes for the 403-seat UP election 2022 is still underway.
